The Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) is the credentialing body for the PHR the SPHR the GPHR and California specific professional certifications. HRCI was originally created within the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and began certifying HR professionals in 1976.

LaCoya Shelton became certified at the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) level in 2004. The HRCI Prep Course under Ms. Shelton’s tutelage maintains the course format that has yielded such great success for so many HR professionals throughout the years. Students who completed The HRCI Prep Class, formerly instructed for over two decades by Mr. Jack Milligan, SPHR, GPHR, realized an exam pass rate of over 90% - almost twice the national average.
